Our children are a reflection of us.
.
We spend a lot of time talking about parenting and unschooling, but we’d like to take a moment to hone in on the unique relationship called marriage.
.
We view all relationships in life as one big family, where love is equal and should be unconditional. But the marriage relationship is unique in that two very different people are coming together as one.
.
We try to be in sync and united as possible but we’re not perfect. In fact, we’re pretty messy. We often find ourselves on different pages or different parts of the journey. We think, perceive, and process things very differently. Which can often cause confusion and frustration. But if we chose to operate out of love and grace, we can see how our differences are actually a beautiful thing.
.
Yes, we are both different, shaped by different gifts, experiences, personalities, and passions. And that’s a really good thing. As two very different people choose to be united by a common goal, our differences can combine to create a beautiful harmony that is family.
.
Our children are a reflection of who we are both individually and collectively. A helpful mirror to see how our differences are being used to shape another generation.
