Well, since we are in the middle of it right now, we figured we would get really vulnerable with our readers by talking about sick days.
.
Currently, 4 out of our 6 kids have come down with the worst kind of stomach bug and it has driven us into what we call a “forced fast.” We are currently on day 3.
.
As a family, we do our best to maintain healthy diets and lifestyles, but amidst a broken world, that can be a challenge.
.
It’s easy to become downtrodden when illness rears it’s ugly head (especially one as bad as this . . . I mean we are talking the tenth load of laundry) but we do see a gift in it all. An opportunity to cleanse and purify.
.
When the purge begins, and the appetite stops, we can trust the way we were designed and listen to our body’s promptings. A forced fast can be a healthy restart for the body. The break from digesting is an opportunity for the body to focus on cleaning, healing, and rebuilding.
.
Honestly, as difficult as this episode has been, we do look forward to the beneficial results of this refining. A more balanced microbiome. Yay!
.
After all, there is a positive light to every situation, right?
