Have you ever seen the animated movie Moana? We have six young children, so we’ve seen it dozens of times.
.
The film tells the story of Moana, the strong-willed daughter of a chief of a Polynesian village, who embarks on a journey of rediscovering her people’s lost heritage as voyagers. Once driven by the innate desire of discovering new worlds, Moana’s people grew fearful and complacent. But Moana knew they were created for something more.
.
I believe we have something inside all of us that calls out from the unknown. We were not called to huddle in fear or comfort. We were created to gather for strength, yes, but also to scatter for light.
.
Exploring is not about rebelling, it’s about rediscovering our true calling as pilgrims and sojourners in this world.
.
Not everyone can travel the world, but you can challenge the status quo and experience an adventure where you are.
.
Your reach can go far beyond your feet.
.
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” – T.S. Eliot
